It Looks a Lot Like Christmas

How incredibly beautiful and serene is this winter scene? Now that I've been in Southern California for 28 years, snow is something we've experienced only a few times at our home in the Saddleback Mountain foothills. This photo brings back memories of growing up in Illinois and Christmas' at my parents home when we would sit in their glassed in sunroom and watch the snow blanket the hill and the frozen lake beyond.

1950's Portable Record Player

How fun is this? The HandyGram portable record player from the 1950's is a complete sound system in a cute unassuming brown case with a gorgeous pink plastic inside and burgundy tone arm. Remember when records had speeds? This plays 4 speeds of records by turning the knob on the gold back-painted speed settings. Smaller than most boom boxes of the 1980's, it was a portable way to carry and play your favorite tunes.  From flicker.

A Must Watch for Anyone Who Posts Pictures on the Internet

Did you know that posting pictures on the internet from a smart phone or camera that has GEO tagging can also easily show anyone where the photo was taken within about 15 feet?

The Tyranny of E-Mail

How many times have you checked your email today? When you got up? Before you went to work? While driving to work? Every ten minutes at work? How many messages did you have to wade through to get to the good stuff? John Freeman's "The Tyranny of E-Mail" is a real wake up call.

Email fragments our days, fractures our concentration, diverts us from face-to-face encounters. And in the case of our business - custom printed invitations and personal stationery to be sent by snail mail, email just lacks the personal touch a handwritten note to a friend or loved one conveys. Take some time, jot some notes instead of a quick line by email and who knows, it just might become a habit you and your friends will enjoy sending as well as receiving.
